Apr 02, 2009· Hi, I came across a problem when calculating the compressor discharge temperature. When using the GPSA databook to calculate a single stage centrifugal compressor discharge temperature, the result is much higher than that we gained using the simulation software ProII or a compressor sizing program.
Apr 26, 2013· Here is what exactly the 13th Edition of GPSA has to say about discharge temperature for centrifugal compressors: Isentropic Process: The approximate theoretical discharge temperature can be calculated from: ΔT ideal = T 1 *[(P 2 /P 1) (k-1)/k – 1] T 2 ideal = T 1 + ΔT ideal The actual discharge temperature can be approximated:
This script determines the gas pressure based on temperature of R134a refrigerant. Production of chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) has been phased out. Environmentally acceptable replacement compounds are therefore needed for use in existing medium and low temperature refrigeration applications.
Mar 21, 2013· Is this gas turbine engine compressor discharge air temperature calculation relatively accurate? Problem: Calculate the compressor discharge air temperature in ºF of the following gas turbine engine compressor core specifications.
(low-side pressure) during normal operation of the same compressor model and refrigerant and the same outdoor air temperature of 85 °F called for 45 °F. temperature entering the compressor (subtract 40 °F. from incoming air temperature) which on the service chart indicates that the incoming or suction line pressure would be about 75 psi.
When calculating the compressor head and discharge temperature the efficiency used will be isentropic or polytropic (isentropic efficiency is sometimes called adiabatic efficiency). Adding 3-4 % efficiency (mechanical losses) to the overall efficiencies in Table 1 will generally give a good estimate of the thermodynamic efficiency [2].
From a calculation viewpoint alone, the power calculation is particularly sensitive to the specification of mass flow rate, suction temperature and pressure, and discharge temperature and pressure. A compressor is going to operate under varying values of the variables affecting its performance.
T discharge =Temperature outlet compressor (K) M=Molar weight of gas (g/mol) Q m =Compressor throughput . A chart is then used to calculate the polytropic coefficient of the gas, then the discharge temperature calculated and then the actual power needed thanks to the formula above. . A compressor has to deliver 2000 Nm3/h of air at 6 bar g .
Oct 01, 2009· We all know that if you compress air the pressure and temperature increase together. n = the amount of gas, if you don't ad or remove any you can ignore this. R = a constant to get all this in the correct units. So basicaly PV/T is the same before and after and as long as you use the same units it .
May 05, 2014· The compressor's discharge line temperature is often an overlooked temperature when troubleshooting a refrigeration or air conditioning system. However, it is a very important temperature because it is an indication of the amount of heat absorbed in the evaporator and suction line, and any heat of compression generated by the compression process.

source and to provide initial technical guidance for selecting the right air compressor for specific applications. The central focus is on packaged complete unit air compressors, most commonly used in
Air Compressor Size and Selection Guide. . High-discharge air temperature. Reduced compressor output. . Step 1 Determine your air requirements. Use the chart below to determine your average CFM requirements per tool or check with the manufacturer. In the example below, we are sizing the compressor for a typical auto body shop. .
Sep 01, 2008· :confused:All, Now I have received two quotations from two different suppliers for 100 HP Ammonia compressor. With in the quotation of the first supplier mentioning "that the his screw compressor is designed to provide 90.8 TR of refrigeration at 30 °F suction, and 90 °F discharge".
Jan 01, 2008· Screw Compressors: Types, Application Range And Control. . These include air separation plants, industrial refrigeration plants, evaporation plants, mining and metallurgical plants. . The allowable turndown depends on the adequacy of bearing lubrication at low speed and on the compressor discharge temperature. Even a 70 percent flow .
Mar 16, 2018· If the outdoor air temperature is high or if the condenser coils are dirty, blades are improperly set or the condenser coils are undersized point #2 (condensing temperature) will be higher on the chart and therefore will put more heat strain on the compressor and will result in lower compressor efficiency and capacity.
Apr 19, 2016· Okay the technical answers are already given, so I'll chime in with the layman's answer. This is sort of hard to do without getting technical. When you see a chart or rating with free air delivery (FAD) it should be associated with a pressure. Th.
The pressure at the compressor inlet expressed as psia (or Bar-a). Pd DISCHARGE PRESSURE The pressure at the compressor discharge expressed as PSIA (or Bar-a). In the example, the suction and discharge pressures are given as 5 and 65 psi respectively. As mentioned above, we have to know whether he means 'psia' or 'psig'.
Oct 16, 2012· Calculate Water Dewpoint In Air Above Atm Pressure - posted in Industrial Professionals: How can we read psychrometric chart above atmospheric pressure? I want to calculate the dew point of air at 2.85 KscG in an air compressor at its first discharge. Suction conditions are: Suction temperature : 28 C Relative Humidity : 75 %. I would like to know what would be the saturation temperature…
After more than 25 years in the compressed air industry, it still amazes me that many plant personnel and even those who sell compressed air products for a living don't fully understand the relationship between flow, or volume (cfm), and pressure (psig).

For example, if you know the pressure, temperature, and volume of air you can calculate the pounds of air: n=PV/(RT) That is useful, since we know the pressure (boost pressure), the volume (which we calculate as shown in the first section "Engine Volumetric Flow"), and we can make a good guess on the temperature.
Let's take this exercise a step further by increasing the compressor discharge pressure in 5 psi increments to see what happens to the discharge temperature. Table 1 summarizes the results. You can clearly see that as the discharge pressure increases, the compression ratio rises and correspondingly the discharge temperature (T d) increase.

Aug 26, 2018· on a r22 system typically suction side aka low side will run around 60 to 75 and the high side typically will be around 225 to 300. at the outside unit if the air from fan feels hot,the units coils needs to be cleaned, meaning the outdoor coils. it.
Almost all compressor manuals that have compressed air output information provide it at 90 PSI and sometimes at 40 PSI. Knowing the air compressor output at 90 PSI output is good, since many air tools are rated on their air consumption at that pressure.

Knowing how much air you need is important. A compressor that is too small can be over-worked. One that is too large can be inefficient. This tool uses the amount of tools, users, or cfm you normally use to calculate the size and cfm of the most efficient compressor for your application.
